The EMV SRC Specifications provide a common baseline for the development of Click to Pay ecommerce payment solutions. An Application Programming Interface (API) Specification and JavaScript Software Development Kit (SDK) Specification support common integration, while the EMV Secure Remote Commerce – Click to Pay Customer Experience (CX) Guidelines are available to support consistent Click to Pay checkout experiences.
Click to Pay solutions are created by various industry participants, including global and domestic payment schemes, banks, fintechs and merchants. Consumers enrol in Click to Pay via participating payment card issuers. Once enrolled, a consumer can confidently pay online wherever they see the Click to Pay icon and expect comparable security and convenience as when making in-store purchases.
EMVCo licenses the Click to Pay icon to participating merchants and other participants.
Click to Pay solutions based on the EMV SRC Specifications reduce complexity and unwanted friction for e-commerce merchants and consumers. They provide a consistent checkout process which can reduce the potential for exploitation by fraudsters.
EMVCo has developed the EMV Secure Remote Commerce – Click to Pay Customer Experience (CX) Guidelines to support merchants, payment service providers, product owners, developers and CX designers, in simplifying online checkout and making it more consistent, convenient and secure for their customers.

EMV SRC Specifications:
The Click to Pay icon signals that a Click to Pay solution is available at participating merchants. This includes any e-commerce checkout environments that offer payments enabled by the EMV SRC Specifications, including websites and apps.
The icon is available for licensed reproduction by participating merchants and other participants. Alternatively, Click to Pay can be used in text as descriptive language if the icon is unable to be visually displayed.
Solutions exist today that provide security and convenience. However, each requires a unique
integration that adds complexity for merchants and an inconsistent experience for consumers. EMV SRC can facilitate the secure transmission of data as well as enable a more consistent merchant integration for card payments, much like what occurs at the physical point of sale. Existing solution providers have the option to use the EMV SRC Specifications for their implementations.
The feasibility of a testing programme based on the EMV SRC Specifications is reviewed periodically.
The guidelines provide EMVCo’s requirements and best practices for creating the best Customer Experience across key Click to Pay moments.
The document describes common use case examples to provide guidance for using SRC within existing payment ecosystems. Two main categories are covered: enrolment, and check-out.
