Message from the Chair of the EMVCo Board of Managers

In 2023, EMVCo continues to work with Associates and Subscribers, other industry partners and the wider EMV® community, to advance EMV as the foundation for seamless and secure payments worldwide.

At our Board of Advisors meeting in Amsterdam earlier this month, Advisors helped to drive the agenda and discussions on strategic priorities for EMVCo as reported below.

We look forward to building on this engagement with more detailed discussions on EMVCo’s technology roadmap at the April Technical Meeting in Singapore and the June EMV User Meeting in San Diego.

As we kick off the year, key publications include updates to the EMV SRC Specifications (v1.3) to support more flexible online checkout, and the 2022 Annual Report, which recaps key 2022 milestones and previews 2023 technical initiatives and plans. We are also excited to welcome Oliver Manahan as the new Director of Engagement and Operations. We wish Brian Byrne, Oliver’s predecessor, the best in his next endeavour and thank him for his efforts and dedication to EMVCo’s work over many years.

Below please find a recap of key EMVCo news, technical updates and activities from the first quarter, and a snapshot of the latest educational resources available to support understanding of EMVCo’s work. We encourage you to share this newsletter with your colleagues and industry peers.
